Never Gonna Dance Again: Missing George Michael, the 1980's, and those Cross Earrings

George Michael and those Iconic Cross Earrings
Well, he surely had a soulful voice. "Careless Whisper" has to be one of my most favorite songs of all time. Oh, to be a "pole dancer" for just one night so I could slither down to that piece of music! Remember how wonderful it was to "slow dance" to that song though. They don't make songs like that any more, afraid somebody might actually have a "tender feeling" for five seconds-heaven forbid! (I heard another blogger say young people have quit "slow dancing." I thought to myself that was probably true as we have turned into a society more interested in "violence" than we are "sex.")

In the tributes to George Michael we've seen many images, but the ones that stand out are the ones with the "Cross" earrings. I remember so well when, I guess, Madonna helped usher in a new wave of popularity for the religious icon.
